I thought for sure this would just go flying off in the bushes. Held onto my 9mm compact red dot no problem. Will buy more.
This OpticGuard with occlusion training has been amazing…a non advertise plus is that you can cover your optics with the occlusion guard while cleaning the gun to preserve the glass coating unharmed by chemicals!
The holosun eps-carry, w/ solar backup is not the most expensive optic but for a micro-compact pistol it is currently one of the best. The unit is fairly strong and shock resistant. The opticgard unit add a marginal amount of additional shock resistant and/or protection for the sight's structure. It does, however, serve to protect the sight from dings and scratches that will decrease it's value and it's owners likely enjoyment over time. As an added purpose the opticgard also has a secondary feature, that of serving as a trainer in the use of red dot optics. Originally red dot optics were designed to be occluded, where one eye really only could see the dot while the other eye remains open and sees everything else. The red dot, when correctly sighted in, should show up in the user's vision, right at the firearm's point of impact. By using the included inner 'trainer' cap the user can occlude the red dot so the eye seeing (through) it can only see the red dot and the brain superimposes the dot over the point of aim/impact. When done correctly the user can (sometimes) keep the dot over the target and to find the dot more quickly upon recoil. For some ppl this does need to be trained into the brain. I still find using the dot w/ my right eye us much easier than using the left to see the dot and my right to see the environment. The other way around us much easier for me. Although pop can and do use opake tape for this reason, the included trainer cap is a more elegant solution that also serves to give extra protection to the sights front lense and reduces the amount of stickem the user needs to clear.

This fit perfect over my new EPS Carry optic without interfering with any of the functionality of the optic. The included insert for occlusion training is an added plus.
I ran this on my 365XL in a concealment course drawing and shooting 200 rounds and it didn’t budge. Would totally recommend!
